Warren Wynshaw, 7th dan

Warren is Chief Instructor at Shin-Budo Kai dojo in New York City. He started his practice of aikido in 1977 with Shizuo Imaizumi Sensei and has continued to do so until Imaizumi sensei’s retirement in 2022. Warren received the rank of Nanadan (7th dan) from Imaizumi Sensei in 2020. Warren endeavors to follow one of Imaizumi Sensei’s core teachings that every time we practice aikido we should do so with a beginner’s mind; that is, concentrate on fundamentals – the “how” and “what” of aikido techniques as they derive from basic principles.
     
 

 

Bob Tullman, 6th dan

Bob started Aikido in 1980 with the Kansas Ki-Society under the auspices of Kashiwaya Sensei in Boulder, CO. In 1982, he began training with Terry Pierce Sensei at the New Jersey Ki Society, achieving the rank of Shodan and Assistant Ki-Lecturer. At that time, he also began training with Imaizumi Sensei at the New York Ki Society. He continued his training at both dojos until 1988 when Imaizumi Sensei formally established the Shin-Budo Kai organization. Shortly thereafter, he began the transition to exclusive training with Imaizumi Sensei within the Shin-Budo Kai organization. He participated in the first Shin-Budo Kai yudansha shinsa (black belt exam) in 1990 and was promoted to Nidan at that time. He achieved the rank of Rokudan (6th dan) in 2013.
     
 

 

Joel Minton, 4th dan

Joel is Chief Instructor of Northwest Connecticut Shin-Budo Kai. Joel began training in Aikido in 1991 under George Charleton Sensei at Connecticut Shin-Budo Kai in Cornwall Bridge, Connecticut where he was the first student there to attain Shodan. Joel has been actively teaching Shin-Budo Kai aikido since 1998. He was promoted to Yondan (4th dan) in 2021.
 

 

Daily Schedule:

  • Friday 6:00pm – 8:00pm, Wynshaw Sensei
  • Saturday 10:30am – 12:30pm, Minton Sensei
  • 2:30pm – 4:30pm, Tullman Sensei
  • Sunday 11:00am – 1:30pm, Combined session with all three instructors
